Carrie celebrated her 60th Birthday in the October of 2016 whilst filming Wonderwell. This unfortunately was the last film that Carrie Fisher was apart of prior to her passing.
The film is a coming-of-age fairy tale set between a modern-day Italy & an imaginary realm. We follow Violet, a naive & inquisitive 12 year-old girl on a thrilling journey that transforms her world forever.
The film is a unfortunately a slow burn. Although filled with wonder and imagination it does take a while for it to start feeling magical. Once Carrie Fisher’s character is introduced, the story takes a positive and exciting turn. Carrie brings a sense of joy and wonder to the screen as she mentors & encourages Violet to journey into the unknown. Carries performance was magical and an amazing tribute to her extensive career. She was a mentor, guide & inspiration for others in life which is replicated on screen.
